Digital Realism Manifesto

This manifesto was written on a beach and then later retyped and perfected on my computer. I wish to log in to the digital world because the physical world feels empty and lacks substance. The digital realm lacks substance too. Digital-Realism is both, like Schrödinger’s cat. Digital-Realism both is and isn’t. It’s a yes and a no at the same time. Digital realms where people spend their life are undervalued and underappreciated. Digital-Realism isn’t known by society as the current standard way of living, yet it has been the standard way Digital-Realists have navigated the world for some time.  Digital-Realists applaud digital achievements the same as Olympic victories. There is no value to Digital-Realists just because something exists physically. The value of things is based on our felt experiences. Digital commodities when lost are felt the same as a physical loss. Digital victories leave us bashful in the arms of the like-minded and shameful in the eye of the other. Digital-Realists struggle with encapsulating both the worlds we live in. That is ultimately our primary goal. To create artworks and forms of expressions which can accurately reflect our felt experiences in both realms. To present both worlds to the viewer in a way which can be read with the perspective of both physical and digital realms. If the viewer understands that both worlds can exist in harmony, they will have the true felt experience Digital-Realists desire. This allows the viewer the ability to perceive the artwork in its truest form. NFT is not Digital-Realism. Digital artworks are not Digital-Realism. Nothing is really. Digital-Realism can only be produced when straddling the line between both worlds, acting as the interface between the two realms. The physical world ignores the digital. The digital world ignores the physical. As Digital-Realists must act as the interface between these two worlds, as it seems that humanity is the only link between them.
